Since 1997, our Behavior Specialist program has provided over 353,000 hours of stabilization services by providing highly trained and experienced staff in homes and schools for children that require one-on-one care due to severe behavioral difficulties.

Behavior Specialist -- Bellevue - Kent - Seattle

Training: Verbal de-escalation and restraint training program (CPI), suicide intervention, mental illness, developmental disabilities (including autism), attachment theory, and child development.Our staff work in public schools and private homes throughout King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. The program primarily serves developmentally disabled and mentally ill populations who are at risk of school expulsion, out-of-home placement, or hospitalization. Our service is accessible twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week to all school districts, mental health agencies, and private pay families.

Credentials of a Behavior Specialists

Behavior Specialists are required to have at minimum a Bachelor's level education. We then provide additional training in a nationally accredited verbal de-escalation training program (CPI), autism, attachment theory, and child development. Furthermore, we have developed intervention trainings to meet the needs of developmentally disabled youth, and specific to the child mental health population. All Behavior Specialists are state-registered counselors and have completed CPR, First Aid, and criminal background checks. Furthermore, our staff receive annual training from the University of Washington Autism Center.
